Meet Denys Mykhailenko, Team Lead at GFE Solutions and a mechanical engineer with a strong background in heavy industrial equipment and lifting systems.

Denys graduated with honours from Pryazovskyi State Technical University in Mariupol, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, where he obtained a Master’s degree in “Lifting, Transport, Road-Building, Reclamation and Construction Machinery and Equipment”. During his studies, he won the All-Ukrainian competition for student scientific works and became the author of a registered utility model patent.
At the beginning of his career, he joined a machine building enterprise as a Design Engineer. The company specialized in the development and manufacturing of equipment for the metallurgical industry, including cranes and lifting systems, steel structures, steel carriers for metallurgical plants, machinery for blast furnace and converter shops, and special gearboxes.

Denys was involved in projects from the initial concept and design phase through production, installation, and commissioning at the customer’s site. This full-cycle experience gave him a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly requirements, and on-site testing. Over the years, he visited many of the largest metallurgical plants in Ukraine, working directly with end users and production teams, which strengthened his ability to connect engineering theory with industrial reality.

Denys completed advanced training in PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill, as well as strength analysis using Creo and Ansys. He also participated in an MBA training program, broadening his perspective on project coordination and organizational processes. His approach to work is meticulous and structured, with strong attention to detail and a clear focus on maintaining high engineering standards. He values responsibility, professionalism, and continuous professional development, which define his leadership style within the team.

At GFE Solutions, Denys leads engineering projects with a combination of technical depth and practical awareness. He supports his team in solving complex mechanical challenges and ensures that design decisions are grounded in production feasibility and long-term performance.

Outside of work, Denys maintains an active and balanced lifestyle. Volleyball has been a central part of his life. He also enjoys table tennis, cycling, skiing, travelling, and cultural activities such as visiting the theatre. He likes studying foreign languages and reading books focused on personal and professional growth.
