So what is more important: the process or the result?
When you climb mountains, do you enjoy the route or do you only enjoy it when you reach the summit?
Hiking is a team game. You have a starting point, an end point and a time frame in which all of you have to complete the route together. Almost the same we have in engineering projects. Therefore we are delighted that some of our team members have such a great hobby.
When hiking, you enjoy the landscapes, but at the same time keep an eye on the time and consider the pace and capabilities of your team members. You learn to overcome obstacles despite the circumstances. You have to be strong and resourceful and be able to improvise at any moment.
And at the end of the journey, tired and happy, you can confidently put a GFE flag on the top of the mountain, or a signature on a successfully completed project 😉
