A manufacturer of industrial compressors and vacuum pumps produces all principal components in-house using a high-performance, highly automated machining centre and a dedicated 3D coordinate measuring machine. In this production environment, every design decision has a direct impact on the output of thousands of units in series production. Dimensional tolerances, fit specifications, and drawing clarity must meet the exact requirements of the automated machining processes — there is no room for interpretation by the production team or iterative correction after the fact.
GFE provided component design engineering support across the compressor and vacuum pump product range, working in Autodesk Inventor to the precision standards required for in-house automated production. Two on-site visits were conducted at the client’s facility to develop a thorough understanding of the machining centre capabilities, the measuring process, and the specific documentation requirements of the production team. This direct exposure to the manufacturing environment ensured that all delivered drawings were immediately usable without modification, contributing to an uninterrupted flow between design output and production input.
