A manufacturer of experimental fiber production lines required a PLC and automation engineer as a permanent member of a multi-discipline engineering team. The control systems on these machines — which involve mechanical, electrical, and flow engineering in close interdependence — could not be treated as a separate workstream. The automation engineer needed to work in parallel with the mechanical and design engineers from the start of each project, not be brought in at the commissioning stage.
GFE’s automation engineer joined the core project team as a permanent member alongside the lead and design engineers. Control systems are programmed in TIA Portal with SCADA integration, developed in parallel with the mechanical design and adapted directly to the client’s production quality standards. The engineer participates in on-site visits to the client’s facility in Germany and maintains continuous remote engagement between visits. The arrangement has been in place since July 2019 and continues to grow in scope.

Each project is staffed with engineers experienced on the relevant platform — TIA Portal, TwinCAT, Pilz, or Rockwell.
Practical experience with EN ISO 13849, SISTEMA calculations, and SRP/CS documentation for CE marking and TÜV review.
Support can be engaged for a single project or structured as a long-term team extension — without permanent hiring.
