Did you know that the first turbojet engine was developed back in 1930 by British engineer Frank Whittle? However, the first aircraft with such an engine – the Heinkel He 178 – did not take to the air until 1939.

Since then, turbojets have completely changed aviation, making modern passenger and military aircraft possible!
